In their search for life, all Christian religions, through denominations and systems, whether Catholic, Protestant, SDA, Baptist, Pentecostal, etc, etc, have "evolved" over many years to a greater or lesser extent and changed their guises to make way for greater acceptance of their doctrines, some of which contain little truth and some with much truth but ALL with error. All of these groups may be traced back through history to a physical starting point (date) but more important for understanding is to recognize that their origins may also be traced back to their mother, the Great Harlot. This harlot will eventually fall together with its daughters and anyone found to be part of them will also fall. Read Revelation 17, paying attention to verse 16.
"and the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire." NKJV
If you are truly seeking truth then you will surely find it but please be very prepared to eventually grasp that NONE of the systems of worship that exist today will survive the coming of Yahushua.
